So, it's OK to first transit and grab a shower in The Wing/Pier etc, and then ask to go through immigration? Any eyebrows raised?

By the way, what is the status of the renovations? I'll be in F in January. Will I be impacted? Last time I was there (March 2010) the F dining room was horribly crowded mid afternoon. The waiters were behind on cleaning tables, and the whole place looked ugly!
