Also, I've seen yet another DCC-less BoC terminal. My school uses them to handle all payments. I had to make a supplementary payment (extra course) with my Visa (yes, ordinarily I'd use UnionPay for local purchases, but I need the AA miles wherever I can get them) and got a standard UnionPay slip, no exchange rate.
Odd incident:
Went to the Subway with the DCC-less BankComm terminal. They told me they couldn't take cards for the near future and that someone from BankComm was going to be over to "fix" their terminal. I'll see where this ends up when they start taking cards again.
Also, the on-campus FamilyMart now refuses to take my Visa or any other foreign cards (back to UnionPay). They said the interchange fees were costing them more than my purchases. This may be my fault because I did perform many small (8-10RMB) purchases with them.
