She was probably stating some of the benefits that a cardmember could enjoy....for example:

*Free flight to anywhere in the world- You can use the miles for award travel to anywhere in the world so it is partially true.....this applies to Gold, Plat and Reserve Cards

*Free upgrades- You can use the miles for free upgrade awards (ie Mileage upgrades to G or Z class). That would be the case with any card. The Plat and Reserve Card give you MQMs that can make you a medallion and get you complimentary upgrades as well

*Free SkyClub Access- This benefit would only be for the Reserve Card. Plat and Gold get 50% discount...so $25 access.....BUT with the miles you accrue you can buy a SkyClub pass and enjoy free access

While I agree that her presentation of the card was pretty ridiculous, it is all about capturing the audience and marketing the product so she obviously captured your ear with her statements....I imagine she captured others ears as well and drew some interest. I certainly wouldn't present the card the way she did but that is what sleazy salespeople love to do. Sounds better to say what she said than say "Get the Gold Card and enjoy 20,000 miles after your first purchase which would realistically be only half way to many award tickets with the Skymiles Program- Or should I say SkyPesos program- since redemption rates are often 50-100% higher than the competition"
These are all benefits of having a SkyMiles card and enough miles. You do not need a DL AmEx card to claim an award ticket, upgrade with miles, or use miles to pay for a SC membership.
