Hi,
My wife is flying NYC (LGA) to Chicago on Monday, Nov 28, on United.
She is returning to NYC (LGA) Dec 1, on United, arriving LGA about 8PM, then continuing on LGA-Rochester on a separate ticket at about 8:50PM the same evening on US Airways.

Question: On the return trip she will have a checked bag-- can this bag be checked through from Chicago to Rochester-- even though she is changing Airlines/tickets on the return trip. The LGA connection on the return is only 45 minutes, so not long enough to go to United baggage claim then check in to US air to pay the baggage fee for the flight continuing to Rochester.
