Posting to different FF programs on the same Rsvn
I just arrived safely back from Bombay about 3 hours ago. Just finishing going through a stack of mail but I had been looking through FT looking for a thread in which the discussion mentioned not to give your FF account if you want to have it credited to two different accounts during the *A 55,555 promo. My apologies but I'm so tired that I could have missed it but I checked the 4 pager 55,555 thread and did not find it in there so I'm creating another thread.
I left BOM on 16MAY at 02h50 local time on LH. I had given my UA MP number but only had the boarding pass issued for the first leg to FRA. My boarding pass indicates UA*G. (Which may I add has already been credited to my UA account as I checked online after starting this post)
Then this afternoon (16MAY) at 14h00 in FRA I spoke to a very helpful and knowledgable agent at F class check-in. I told her to take my FF account out since I want to credit my FRA to YYZ (on LH) to AP and not UA's MP as I did for the first leg. She indicated it won't be a problem that she is able to credit by segment as long as you issue each boarding pass separately.
What needs to happen is you give your main FF number (in my case AP) when you make the booking, and when you check in just have the agent put in the FF number for which you want that segment to be credited. Only one BP can be issued at a time. This ticket was issued by AC. I'll let you know whether it posted properly but my boarding pass has AC*G for the FRA-YYZ leg.
On another trip I had a ticket issued by AC. On the AC pnr my AP number was on file. Routing was YYZ-AC-IAD-UA-FRA. I had called UA prior to the flight and had asked them to change my AP to MP. A week later when I checked in YYZ, AC gave me my two boarding passes through to FRA. My AC flight had my AP number on it and my AC boarding pass for my UA flight had my MP account number on it.
Just wanted to toss it out there as this may save some from having to mail in their boarding passes etc....
Anyway...time for sleep otherwise tomorrow will be another long day as I head off to Western Canada.
Cheers
