Sound interesting. I once brought a filmmaker from Tallin over to a festival I was organizing in Edmonton back in 1990, just as the country was emerging from the east block. We got him tickets to the Stanley Cup Fina. Estonians are very close to the Finns, and half the Edmonton Oilers in those days was comprised of the best Finland turned out. Needless to say he was in seventh heaven. He also enjoyed his trip to the FUTURE SHOP, where he loaded up on faxes and a few other essentials to connect himself -- and no doubt many friends -- to the outside world. He brought me a couple of bottles of VIRU KANGE, a wicked local vodka. (The Cubans brought primo rum and cigars, the Brazillians lots of coffee beans. One of the benefits of sponsoring poor starving filmmakers to festivals is the little tokens of thanks they bring from home.]

Maybe this is an excuse to pay him a visit. Have they discovered this anomoly yet, or is the fare still available?
