I may look at another hub, albeit that it seems all AA's flights to MBJ pass through MIA. I think we'd need an airport night-stop anyway, and MIA is possibly not first choice on balance.
The schedules are a PITA, though, on first look. Much research to be done.
Darling - I suggest JFK. I do it all the time. AA fly there and some of the 757s have an International configuration in First - they actually refer to it as Business. Miami is unspeakable - you be even better via Dallas than that hell on earth. Actually the fares are almost identical from MIA or JFK to SJU.
