Diamond is reached with 28 stays, doesn't matter if it is new or a re-qualify, qualifications remain the same. there are other methods to reach Diamond besides stays (100K BASE points-this is points from pure Hilton in-hotel spend; elite, AMEX, offer bonus points do NOT count in this total, 60 nights or Amex Surpass CC $40K annual spend)

You're getting confused w/SPG (25 stays).
