That Old Chestnut.............
There is no conspiracy to Steal From, Damage, Destroy or Otherwise Delay Priority Tagged luggage. The sensitive souls in baggage or loading or whatever they like to call themselves would be deeply offended if they knew they were held in such low esteem on this forum. (Most of the "rotten apples" that caused walkouts, lockouts etc in days gone by have either taken early retirement, voluntary redundancy or have been fired. If you stop a blue uniformed loader/baggage person in T5 to ask directions, you will find them unfailingly willing to help!)
Okay, Priority Tags or "Snob Tags" are, and ever, will be for First or Club pax only. That's why the Eggseckertiv Club send you those nice Premier/Concorde Club/ Gold/Silver plastic luggage tags, to ensure they go in the "Priority Bin", as we call it. (Most of our cardholders don't check bags in though - only when they go on their happy holidays!)
What happens is that Priority Luggage is supposed to travel in one designated AKH container (Little Scareybuses) or AKE container (767,777 or 747). When you have more than one container load, it can't all be treated as "Priority" now, can it? On most aeroplanes nowadays, more bags have Orange Priority Tags than normal bags so it's easier to get rid of the normal bags first!
If the check in staff do their job properly by not "Priority Tagging" non-entitled passengers' baggage, and destroy old tags, then we can get back to having one "Priority" container and doing what we're supposed to do!
