I have my girlfriends mother travelling to Panama and she is applying for her passport. She is telling my girlfriend that she needs to provide receipts for all her electronics so she doesn't get charged tax returning in to the U.S.


I joke and said that her mother should just pull out any American style electronics plug and say "ya I bought this...in America"

But then she asked me to come on here and see what this is about. So does this sound familiar?

She is already anticipating all of google coming on here to help me, with that being said, thanks for any input you have.

Maybe you can describe the passport/electronics/customs process to a newbie as well?
