I have ALWAYS had problems with international connection times under 2 hrs, the flights are almost always delayed and always seem to make it with seconds to spare to catch the connection. YET, the connecting flight never seems to wait for the incoming flight that has connecting passengers. I've never missed a connection but on numerous occasions I have had to make it with 5 minutes to spare before they closed the gate because the pilot/crew were lounging around wasting time at the departure point. It has been extremely stressful. Oh, and my baggage has not made it many times resulting in the airlines having to ship it to me at their own cost - no wonder the airlines are going out of business!! geez!
Fine, if they want to lounge around but put in realistic connection times for people to deal with the ridiculous amounts of time it takes crew to open the doors, then having to walk possibly from one end of the airport to the other, sometimes going through security again, sometimes not having or having incorrect gate information conveyed beforehand resulting in additional time. All this seems to be the passengers fault.
I was recently looking at a Lufthansa flight LAX-FRA-BLR, #457 and connecting to #754.
connection time in FRA is 1h 10min, give me a break

...does Lufthansa think about 55 available minutes to be a reasonable time to handle possible delays, transfer of baggage and the passenger moving to another gate at a realistic pace? Why are airlines framing itineraries like this?
I have made a multitude of connections and anything under 2 hrs has always been a hair raising experience! always, everytime!
Now, about the Lufthansa flight, it seems like a good option and I would've bought it except for the totally unrealistic connection time of 1h 10m which has very high chances of going awry...
