The 2 night minimum stay is no douybt in place since ther hotel knows of some sort of sepcial event happening in the area, or their hisorical data shows they can do this.

They'd rather have 1 person stay 2 nights than 2 people stay 1 night, saves on costs of cleaning, check in staffing etc.

If they determien they aren't on treack for a "perfect sell" of the hotel those nights, they will lrelease the mnimum stay requirement.

And as others said, often if you call hotel directly, they will sometimes overrde such restrictions, depends on the person on the phone and their level of training (more traingin would probably mean they would enforce the restriction, so hope for a new hire!)
