I have to agree with the comments about the new boarding process becoming dangerous. When the call is made and the surge of self-importance throws itself at the blue carpet, it would be quite easy for someone to lose their balance and fall - especially an elderly person or a child.
Even an average sized European like me gets shoved a lot and I have almost lost my balance on occasion. Without wishing to cause offence, the large number of obese Americans of which there is a significantly greater proportion than elsewhere in the world, makes it even more dangerous. All it takes is a few fatties to tumble and some poor traveller could have 1000lbs of "elite" on them.
I've lost patience with it. I check all my luggage and board the aircraft last. It's so much easier and hassle free. Maybe they should change the boarding order to allow GS/F/1K to board last!
