This is one of the few times I feel let down by Flyertalk. I really despised this hotel even though I was on the 55th floor with a great view and no noise --- the overall vibe of the hotel is just not for me and just seems designed for prom nights. I remember a story I read about suburban moms in the midwest having "Sex and the City" parties. I imagine this is exactly the sort of faux-chic property that crowd would go gaga for (as a New Yorker I found it about as authentically "New York" as anything in that neighborhood). Everything is cheap and falling apart which is, I suppose, one of the reasons that the lighting is so low you need a flashlight to see your own shoes.
