Just had a 2 night stay using the FFN award night promo. Front desk was very freindly and upgraded us to a spacious terrace suite with nice ocean views. The terrace was the largest I've ever had at an SPG property.

We had the complimentary Platinum breakfast at Pakarang, which was good, but not spectacular. We liked the cooked to order eggs, and the asian dishes including sesame chicken, congee and fried noodles. Staff was nice and we had a great poolside table.

The complimentary Platinum drink at Tomson bar was fantastic! They let us order any drink we wanted off the menu and had no problems letting them know it was a Plat amenity. We had lunch at Tomson our first day...salad and Thai green curry were huge. We had lunch at the Pizza bar the second day, which served surprisingly excellent thin crust pizza.

We also venutured out of the hotel both days and walked up the entrance road to the shops and restaurants right outside the entrance. Yong's restaurant was good, serving Thai cuisine, and although prices seemed high the food was above average. We were also shocked that the shops were charging the equivalent of $2 per beer at right outside the entrance, but if you walked up the main road just two minutes the convenience stores were charging half that!

Overall an enjoyable stay and pleased with the Plat recognition.
