As long as the seat next to me is empty, I find both acceptable, actually. Even for long haul. Sure, the 7443 config is preferable, but the 7442 is not that bad. Then of course if the adjacent seat is occupied it becomes pretty much a C/J experience and compared to some other carriers, e.g. SQ/CX, not even a good one at that.
