I am German, I am a Chase BA Visa card holder and no, I did not get 100,000 miles from Chase. When I switched from another Chase Visa card to the BA Visa card it resulted in 0 miles if I remember right, it has been a few years.

Do I fly often with BA? Unfortunate not, as my IT job is setup that most of my stuff can be done remotely. So most of my miles come from purchases via the card. I have done several J and F redemptions so far, including during the Gate Gourmet disaster, and my current balance is over 250,000 miles.

I did also contact Chase about the changes (I am not happy, as it now costs me more in comparison to before for the same flights I have done). All my redemptions have been on BA, although I have considered a trip to Australia or Hong Kong. In my message to Chase I did not demand anything, just voiced that I am not happy about having to spend more now. I got exactly the same message back from Chase (oh look, BA aren't the only ones using form letters).

What I really did not like was the drip feeding from BA and the factual wrong statements. Communication is something BA is really bad at in my opinion. Be it during the Gate Gourmet disaster, where I was booked in F and no notice from BA about the canceled flight, the "snow" disaster last Christmas nor that nobody I contacted about the YQ differences for the canceled flight during that time compared to my rebooking for a later price.

Am I keeping my Chase BA Visa card? Probably. Might I switch if something better comes along? Maybe. Only time will tell.
