Sometimes you work over a holiday or holidays to file some bizarre request from the government. Sometimes you miss your kids' games or recitals to get your customers out of a jam. Sometimes you work for two or three days straight to achieve a necessary objective. Sometimes you are in another country when there is a rattlesnake in the garage, or the electrical fuses blow, or the neighbor's horse gets loose in your yard, and your wife is not happy with your absence.
If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, etc. etc.

WOW if you were unaware when you applied to be a pilot or flight attendant that your working hours would be during some times that would require you to work while management executives were at home, perhaps you applied for the wrong job. And if you were also unaware that ALL of these schedules would be based on seniority, those with the company longest could get their way, then you really didn't think through your career choice very well.
Hospitals, restaurants, theaters & entertainment venues, hotels, utilities, convenience stores, gas stations, I'm leaving out tons, but all of these would be ALSO good to avoid should you decide to free yourself of "the man" who is beating you down. And don't let the jet bridge door hit your @$$ on the way out. Get a life.
