Doug Parker has stated he wants to merge with someone. If AA goes into BK, what better circumstance to grab AA. While in BK let the judge do the hard work and cut benefits, wages, leases and unwanted gate contracts.
To be honest Parker would be compelled to buy AA at that time or be fired.
And this the point I don't think the unions fully grasp BK. When in BK, the company you work for is in the control of the BK judge and the creditors. The envirement is not the same when UAL operated in BK for three years.
Today AA is worth more in pieces than whole.......think about it..
