I suggest (assuming that you want assurance that you will get there in a timely manner) that you:
1)Book an AI ticket now
2)Wait until Kingfisher cancels/delays the flight, then demand a full refund.
3)If Kingfisher does not cancel/delay, then cancel the Kingfisher (or AI) flight on the travel day. You will have to pay cxl fees then, but you would have to pay them now too...
