At luxury properties, it's about communicating your needs and having them met. There may be a "butler" or other service person who is available to plump the pillows every time you walk out of your room, but you may not want that. On the other hand, you may want it every hour.
It's up to you to communicate what you want. Good properties note their guests' desires and adjust service to that standard when you return.
