BMI Rep stated it would be 12,000 miles PLUS 7,500 as there was a connection within zone 2. Is this correct ? 19,500 miles EACH because Star Alliance don't offer a direct flight ?

AND, when APPROXIMATE taxes were calculated, they said TOTAL PER PERSON would be 220 GBP, which is 50 GBP MORE than I can BUY a ticket with BA for !

Are BMI miles really this poor value ?
For travel in Europe yes it isn't great value. As with any individual programme it has strengths in certain areas and weaknesses in others. If you are looking for long haul travel in J, especially for cash and miles, you can find some great value with BMI.

The new Avios scheme from BA is your friend if you want great value redemptions from EDI to Europe. Keep ahold of those miles and you might find they become Avios before too long anyway.
