last I checked, AC charged $25 for a bag to the USA

UA would not "check you in", if first flight is with AC... as many have mentioned (and you failed to notice), its the operator that counts.

You would not be paying any UA charges, theoretically, or otherwise....

Please, please, stop spewing out false information on this forum.
