You are correct, however I'm under the impression that most people would want to get to their destination when planned, especially if there's connecting flights. Since Madrid only gets one flight a day from AA, and Iberia doesn't serve DFW from MAD, the delay could be very long.

That's my opinion at least, but if someone had the time and didn't care to spend a night it's a bonus for them. I think though that most people would not want a delay.
