Unless you only want say an aisle seat or a window seat, if its a Mainliner then you can end up in a middle seat either in E- or E+.

The chance is very slim that youd be IDBed, besides 1st havng to ask for Vols, most flights have x% of no-shows or people who purchased that flight since it was the cheapest but plan day of to go SBY etc etc

The only thing that buying E+ will do is allow you to control in which seat you will be sitting.

For such a short flight Id keep my $$ exactly where it is now in my pocket. Had it been say ALB-LAX non-stop that would be something else
