Seat Choices:
On shorter flights, I often take the last F row, since you can usually recline during taxi-takeoff-landing - FAs usually don't say anything, and there is no one behind you to annoy.
On meal flights (not the OP's) I often take row 2 (or 3, if there are four rows) to help guarantee meal choice - many of the FAs don't follow the FEBO plan, so this covers you either way.
But despite the above criteria, I often end up in row 1, the designated upgrade row, with no good options for change. This is a bit of a pain, since I often have a backpack of goodies to keep me occupied during the flight, so I have to deal with the overhead issue.
OP - Enjoy the flight! As others say, F can be addictive, especially if you are coming to it from a CRJ!
