Reading this kind of news I can't stop thinking that technology is developing at an unbelievable fast rate, everything in our life is outdated in a year, something can last more, but the more advanced (and expensive) the object the faster they are developing and enhancing it.
How is it possible that in this world we are still producing airplanes which had been designed 20 years ago?
Even a building or a skyscraper built 20 years ago nowadays is technologically outdated, we have developed materials, roads, engines, conductive material, we managed to downsize everything putting a computer in a watch.
But the flight industry is moving at a totally different pace.
Is it a dumb thought? Anybody share my opinion or asked himself the same question?
Cars or boats made 20 years ago compared to the present day ones are almost ridiculous, while airplanes, a part from the new composite materials used for the 787, looks the same to me.
Still the same kind of engines, the same shape, the same enormous fuel consumption, almost all of the same materials, etc etc..
