Most airline food in F (ie. not the "snack packs" you can buy in the back of the bus) is significantly better than the fare in Acela F. Given the choice, I still opt for the train over flying in the NEC, but you're better off stopping at Starbucks then ordering train coffee and any of the breakfast options. I'd respectfully disagree. The lobster salad, lamb, and French toast on the Acela outclass anything I've seen on a domestic F flight. Premium transcons and international service are another story—some of those meals can match or slightly exceed what Acela has to offer.
For NEC travel, no airline in any class comes close to the Acela F meal service...the flight's too short to offer anything worthwhile!
