Was there a different 2-4-1 voucher that could also be used in conjunction with a paid BA ticket? I seem to recall having heard about one like that.
There is a separate Chase companion ticket offer which gives a free companion ticket when a full fare ticket is purchased with the Chase BA Visa. This has been in effect for a long time, way before the recent $30,000 spend 2-4-1 offer.
I haven't seen it mentioned for a long time, but nor have I heard that it is no longer offered. I never used the offer because it was always far cheaper to buy 2 lower priced CW tickets than 1 full fare.
I remember that you could use it in WT+, CW & F. I'm not sure about WT.
The OP is referring to the the $30,000 spend 2-4-1 and that can only be used when buying a ticket with miles.
