I'm too stuck at Heathrow, the staff has been really helpful and provided me with a hotel at Hilton at no cost, even though they did not have to (perils of separate tickets which I already knew from the outset thanks to years of FlyerTalk).
I did not beg or ask for it, just wanted my luggage back and then she saw my situation and put me in a hotel after a duty manager authorised it.
I really can't fault them at all... Trying to get more out of them means they could give/have less resources to look after people, especially the likes of me.
