He said that in the HKG-EWR direction, this was always the case. With no passengers and no luggage, I would imagine that quite a bit of cargo could be loaded on a EWR-HKG ferry flight, probably up to whatever would fit volume-wise. I wonder how much this offsets the cost of fuel for the ferry flight?
5000 cubic feet of cargo at a typical 10 lb/cuft is 25t... I don't know what current cargo rates are.
