The mifi device includes two radios that need power: a GSM radio and a wi-fi radio. These are redundant power consumers that need to be fed, thus increasing the OPs power requirement. Plus the fact that the mifi cannot supply power to the OPs phone means that the battery is not shared -- which means one of the two devices can run out of power before the other, and the one with power left can't feed the dead device.

Any thoughts?
For Europe you need a sim for each country. Europe has not worked out how to offer sims that can cross borders without roaming yet.
