I'm one of the guilty Americans exploiting my Chase credit card privilege.

Ten years ago, when I received the BA VISA credit card (neat blue tartan design on it too), they gave me 10,000 miles for joining up. I was in heaven!

Thought I'd hit the lottery. Woohoo.
