Hi,

There are no 'catches' with the card, however one thing you may need to look at is the BMI / Lufthansa situation at the minute. I have no idea what is going to happen with credit cards / miles over the next year or so.

AMEX platinum is a great card if you travel a lot. £300 sign up fee but a load of 40k miles, insurances, lounge access, hotel reward cards, etc etc. It's been worth WAY WAY more than that for me.
