I found it to be quite hillarious when CX gave me a cheque for 500 HKD (US $53) for an involuntary downgrade from F to C on a recent intra-Asia flight when they did a change of aircraft.

They would not listen to reason at the airport and said that was all they would offer. This was on an award ticket.

Pretty funny!

Too bad Hong Kong does not have the EU rules for such downgrades!
