Cannot speak for the other poster, but IME, the answer is Yes, Yes, Yes!!! This FI is fantastic. Their employees are great. The place is clean, modern and quiet. The FS is dirty. The employees seem to always act as though the guests are getting in the way of them doing their jobs. It's one of the worst properties in the chain. Your mom will likely have to walk less at the FI. The FS is a little more spread out.

Examples from the FS: I called for the hotel shuttle. Called back several times over the next hour. On about the fifth call, I was told I had to walk down steps. This had never been mentioned before. The driver confirmed the desk never tells people this. Cigarette burns on the furniture, despite the property being non-smoking for years. Skanky women in the lobby who offered to stop by my room and take care of me after they finished with their "other" client.

The Ren isn't bad, either. The last couple times I've needed to stay near EWR, it was actually less expensive than the FI.
