No details in French on alternate side of street parking rules!

I actually do recall that much, ie "stationement," from my past Parisian trips with the big (round, red/blue?) signs of what appears to a chain dangling, as if from the back of a tow truck - when they are real serious about NO PARKING!

You actually need to know the days of the week, times, etc, and TOW AWAY ZONE in French to be sure! I do NOT have the confidence in my French abilities even when I can translate the signs and have appropriate foreign coinage/dollars!

I do recall that across from Chateau Champlain you can park at some rather great lengths, during the winter months only. It really surprised me and I was sure my French was wrong! Menus and wine lists are encontered more frrquently!
