It might be the effect that taking the lazy route and consuming the IC monibar has left a pattern in my brain that links 'thirsty' to 'minibar' and has eroded the link to 'find a shop'.

But I think it's also that one becomes more pragmatic. Firstly, is £6 really that big a deal when you want it? And secondly, don't think of it as costing £6 for a beer, because you were already prepared to spend £3 on it, or more at the bar, I think of it as being a premium of a pound or two - and then I don't really care so much
