600 EURO compensation from QF for grounding
Hi,
I was booked from Berlin via London to Sydney on Qantas, departure date was Monday October the 31st. Because of the grounding of the Qantas fleet I rebooked on Singapore Airlines. Qantas has since refunded the Qantas ticket and I have submitted a claim to also refund the difference in fare between the Qantas and the Singapore Airlines ticket and am confident that this claim is going to be accepted.
However, I have read that passengers out of the EU are also entitled to a 600 EURO compensation in case of cancelled flights. My question is, am I entitled to that? In particular, my flights did not end up being cancelled (however delayed) and also the fleet started operating about 3 hours before my departure time so practically I had no chance to take my flight.
cheers
