To a degree I do agree with "you get what you pay for" but there are exceptions to the rule.
I'd avoid the bottom end of any company's product line. Despite my great love of the purple in the Rimowa Salsa Air line, I decided against buying it.
I found (but didn't save the URL of) a comparison between the Tumi Vapor line and what was clearly a Rimowa Salsa (possibly an air) in terms of wheel and handle reliability. It was a Tumi document, so obviously the tests would favor Tumi, but it was pretty damning about the handles and wheels in particular on the Rimowa line.
