I am staying at this property right now. It's a nice property with the modern look of a high end W hotel. The service has been very good with everyone willing to go out of their way to help out.

However, this has been a rather disappointing stay so far because of the following reasons:

1) I am SPG platinum but was not upgraded to a suite. That's fine (I understand that suites may not be available) but what isn't good is that I had to ask for a suite upgrade stating that I'm platinum. There was no platinum recognition at check in until after I told them and after that they told me about the amenity, etc.

After telling me that an upgrade wasn't available, I asked if I could possibly get one for nights 2 and 3 (I am at a 3 night stay). After a few minutes of typing around and talking to others, etc. they approved that request.

This morning I stopped by the front desk before going sightseeing and told them that I had my bags all packed up for the suite upgrade so they should just feel free to move my stuff when the room is ready.

I got back at 5:30pm and still no suite. They said that they had one but it's still in cleaning so 45 more minutes.

I went out to dinner and came back at 7:30pm and they told me that the room was finally ready but my stuff was still in my room. I didn't want to wait around any longer at this point so I just told them that I'd move my own stuff up to my new room.

Overall, very annoying and frustrating to have to go to the front desk multiple times, etc.

The suite itself is nice. It's a corner suite with a separate living room / desk and the bedroom. I like it.

2) There is a free shuttle to take you to a few sites. I used it yesterday to go to TST and tried to use it again this morning but they said that it was stuck in traffic, etc. Meanwhile there were 2 other shuttle buses just sitting there. Of course I don't know what those other buses were for but they basically said that there was no bus available and that I would have to take a cab.

Just a bit frustrating to offer a free shuttle service and promote it in my room literature only to have it not actually available at 10am.

On other notes, the pool is nice. The workout room is small but nice. The dressing rooms are really nice...steam and dry sauna and a large hot tub overlooking the city. It was empty when I was there earlier today.

Walking to the hotel from the train station is not too bad and there are signs but it's kind of hard to see W Hotel on the sign because it's usually alongside something else (some harbour place or whatever).
