Had exact same issue re: food choices recently on BA10 SYD-BKK. Sitting in 64A, ran out of chicken asked what I wanted as an alternative said " nothing if no chicken", some was sourced from the downstairs CW cabin.
Mind you I feel the advantages of the seat 64A vastly outweigh mere trifles like food as I always dine in the lounge prior. YMMV
