In a word, yes, it probably does affect your choice. CW service goes from the front of the cabin to the back on 4-class 777 aircraft, and similar on the 747. Basically the closer to the galley, the higher chance they will have what you want.

It's not really discussed because many here have BA status, and meal orders in CW are prioritized by status, or should be, anyway.
