I've enjoyed reading everyone else's info, now I guess it's time to share. I'm Doris, live just outside Austin, TX ("Live Music Capital of the World", the CVB claims). I'm executive director of a statewide nonprofit association, so travel the highways and flyways of Texas regularly. I have two kids (Allison, almost 20 and a student at our state's finest public university, just down the road in College Station, and Matt, turning 13 this month, so save me from the horrors of puberty!!) No pets currently -- still recovering from the trauma of the 12 year old dog and 18 year old cat dying in '98. I miss complaining about having to vacuum dog and cat hair, so we'll be adding family members soon.
Since my ancestors left Germany and France in the early 1800's, just about no one in my family has travelled anywhere, so I guess I must be a throwback to earlier generations. I've travelled, on my own and with the kids, to about 40 of the states, parts of Canada and just a few European countries.
I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts. I usually learn something, and sometimes I just get a chuckle. All in all, y'all are a fascinating group that never ceases to amaze!
