Questions re a pre-Avios booking change not yet paid for
Using the USA Visa 2-4-1 offer, my wife and I obtained 2 F tickets from SFO to DXB for next year, paying both the miles and the fees involved. I then changed the booking dates. But because my wife had to pay for the changes (since it was her 2-4-1), I didn't pay for it and just remembered that I have to do so. A few questions:
1. It cost us 240,000 RT originally; now the trip is 270,000 miles RT. Do you think we'll have to pay the extra 30,000 miles?
2. Any extra fees we might have to pay in finalizing this change, in the era of Avios?
3. I've noticed that the overall change fee has been reduced, but now includes $25 for a phone change. Since we can't make this change online, do you think we'll be charged this fee?
Unless any extra cash fees as per #2 are exorbitant, this won't be the end of the world. We have enough miles to make the change, though obviously would prefer to avoid it. And after all it's my own responsibility for not focusing on this sooner. But any advice and info would be welcome.
