My impression is that DL has more flexibility with KLM than with AF. I do not know what they can and connotation do precisely, but sometimes they are able to obtain seats that otherwise would be unavailable, especially if extenuating circumstances or the possibility of a stranded HVC would seem to warrant using a favor. This is an elaboration on my comment about about the legacy NW-KLM relationship. My sense is that even post merger, KLM is still different from AF in this dimension.
