A question on MFU which comes based on the wording
here.
Previously when MFU it was 0.5x of economy mileage to go from WT+ to CW and 1x to go from CW to F.
However based on the following wording it suggests otherwise.
The amount of Avios needed to upgrade is based on the Avios price for a flight in the cabin you wish to upgrade from (the 'base Avios').
This reads that to upgrade from WT+ to CW the mileage required is 0.5x WT+ redemption level and from CW to F it is 1x the CW redemption level as these are the cabins we are upgrading from.
I recall reading somewhere that the MFU wouldn't change and pricing is calculating using the old system.
Looking at an example, LHR-NYC. Previously to upgrade from WT+ to CW it was 25,000 miles. Now it would be 0.5 x 60,000 miles which is the Avios price for the flight in the cabin we wish to upgrade from. This puts the MFU up 5,000 miles.
If we look at LHR-HKG and upgrading from CW to F. This previously was 80,000 miles. Based on the current wording it would be 1 x 120,000 which puts the miles to upgrade up from 80,000 miles to 120,000 miles.
Can you confirm if this is the new intended wording or if the previous methodology remains the same and the wording just requires some clarity.
