I just wanted to share something I noticed today, following BA's switch from the exec club to Avios. I currently have 580 tier points, however I have now been given silver status. I am guessing this is because I have three flights booked, that commence before my membership is up for renewal, which would have ensured that I got silver status anyway. Despite expecting to get bronze first, and then silver next month (when I earn the additional 20 tier points needed for silver), I guess Avios have used their discrepancy where they see that members will make the grade during their current membership.

Has anyone else noticed this? I have also booked flights to Tokyo now that the club fare has dropped from 160k points to 120k points and selected my seats for free.
