Thanks all, I'll definitely look at CX, and will likely buy the extra miles needed for business class.

Or, I don't suppose there are any mileage runs that pop up this time of year? I'm currently 20,800 miles away from requalifying for Gold. I could get the miles I need for the trip and earn the status.
