While I too have the Schwab card which reimburses fees, rarely in China are fees assessed to foreign ATM cards.
Hmmm. I always use Schwab at will or BofA only in Construction Bank machines. The few times I've used my BofA card at other ATMs, I've noticed ~$15 in fees per transaction. I had been operating under the assumption that the Chinese bank was responsible for stealing at least part of this princely sum. But, perhaps it is all BofA.
